How often should you shower?

Clean hair: do you really need to wash it every day?

Daily shampooing or occasional washing? Here too, it all depends on your hair type:

  • Fine, straight hair  : It tends to get greasy quickly. Washing it daily or every other day is often necessary.
  • Thick, curly, or textured hair  : These hair types retain natural moisture better. A weekly wash is usually sufficient, supplemented by a simple rinse with water if needed.
  • Coloured or damaged hair  : The less you wash it, the better it will look! Opt for a gentle shampoo and space out washes to preserve colour and prevent breakage.

Physical exercise and work influence your routine

If you sweat a lot at the gym or if your job exposes you to dirt (construction site, factory, etc.), a daily shower becomes necessary. But be careful! Water that is too hot and harsh cleansers can dry out your skin. Opt for a quick shower with lukewarm water and a mild soap, paying particular attention to areas prone to bacteria (armpits, groin, feet).

Adapting your shower to the seasons: a smart move

  • In summer,  with the heat and perspiration, showering daily, or even twice a day, can be essential.
  • In winter,  skin is drier and more sensitive. Reducing the frequency of showers and using cleansing oils helps to preserve natural moisture.
