Europe on alert for the Mpox virus – The risk to the general population remains low
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) is alerting health authorities across the continent after cases of the dangerous clade 1b strain of the Mpox virus (formerly monkeypox) were identified in four countries.

The reasons why, it seems, the Center raised the alarm are that, on the one hand, these confirmed cases do not affect travelers and, on the other hand, the fact that this particular strain is transmitted not only sexually but also through simple contact.
