Caramel: In a saucepan or directly in the pan, cook the sugar and water over medium heat until you achieve a golden caramel. Pour it into the bottom of the pan.
Apples: Peel and thinly slice the apples. Arrange them over the caramel, covering the bottom completely.
Batter: Beat the eggs with the sugar until frothy. Add the milk, oil, and vanilla. Then, gently fold in the sifted flour, mixing well.
Baking: Pour the batter over the apples and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 35-40 minutes. Let it cool for a few minutes and then turn it out onto a plate.
Tip: A touch of cinnamon on the apples takes the flavor to another level!
