Furthermore, it’s also harmful to the washing machine. With too much soap, the machine has to work harder, which means higher water and energy consumption. It’s best to stick to the detergent dosage recommended by the manufacturer and remember that it’s always better to use a little less soap than more.

Many cities have particularly hard water. To overcome this problem, we have two products at home that work very well as substitutes for chemicals: sodium bicarbonate or sodium solvent (obviously not together).

As powerful anti-limescale agents, they can enhance the washing properties of detergents. Simply add a tablespoon to your normal wash with your usual detergent and you can easily reduce the amount you need.

As we’re all learning, whenever possible, it’s best to use natural products instead of chemical detergents or stain removers, which are more harmful to the environment.
Salt is a good example of how a common product can become a powerful stain remover. If you have a garment stained with oil or grease, sprinkle some salt on it, rub it in, and wash as usual.

For wine stains, apply sparkling water and then sprinkle with salt. Once the salt has absorbed the wine, simply add lemon juice and wash your hair as usual.

can also be used when dealing with a naturally white fabric that has yellowed, such as curtains, after soaking them in bleach. If they don’t return to their original white color, try adding a little salt to the bleach. The result will be surprising.

For a perfect wash, simply add a tablespoon of coarse salt to the washing machine along with the detergent, as it is able to fix colors, remove stains and soften fabrics.
