This is one of the WORST things you can eat!

The liver is an incredibly important organ, yet the symptoms of liver problems are often subtle or difficult to recognize. For example, Dr. Eric Berg suffered from liver problems for about 22 years, unaware that the pain in his right arm, below his rib cage, was related to liver dysfunction. In reality, the liver produces bile, essential for digestion, and bile duct blockage can cause significant pain.

However, it is possible to reverse this situation. Contrary to some beliefs, the liver can regenerate completely, even after significant damage. Another misconception is that the liver stores toxins; in fact, it detoxifies them. Fat is responsible for storing toxins. However, when the liver is severely damaged and develops scarring or cirrhosis, the risk of liver cancer increases significantly. Current treatments, such as liver transplantation, are often the only option for advanced cirrhosis, but this treatment is far from ideal and is associated with numerous side effects.

Research on Fats and Their Effects on the Liver

A study conducted on rats has provided a better understanding of the effects of various fats on the liver. Three groups of rodents were fed specific combinations of fats and alcohol, and the results were surprising:

The first group, fed lard (pork fat) and alcohol, showed minimal liver damage.
The second group, fed tallow (beef fat) and alcohol, showed virtually no liver damage.
The third group, fed corn oil and alcohol, suffered severe liver damage.
