Sarcopenia: Causes of muscle loss and solutions

 

Behind this somewhat intimidating word lies a very real condition:
Sarcopenia is the progressive loss of muscle mass and physical strength. Contrary to popular belief, it is not an inevitable consequence of aging. It is now recognized as a distinct disorder with significant implications for quality of life.

Why does this happen… and to whom?

Muscle decline actually begins as early as age 30 (!), but the process accelerates sharply around age 60.
