What causes bad breath?

Bad breath, or halitosis, can be caused by several factors, but one of the most common is the presence of bacteria in the mouth. Symptoms to watch out for

White tongue: If you notice a white or yellowish coating on the surface of your tongue, this may indicate the growth of certain bacteria.

Swollen or bleeding gums: Swollen gums can be a sign of gingivitis, a bacterial infection that, in addition to causing bad breath, can lead to more serious problems if left untreated.
