Tip: Pay particular attention to mattress seams and furniture cracks.
Diatomaceous earth: a natural insecticide.
This natural powder, composed of abrasive micro-particles, destroys the exoskeletons of bed bugs, dehydrating them in a few hours. Sprinkle it under beds, along baseboards, and in other suspicious areas.
Caution: Use food-grade diatomaceous earth to avoid respiratory risks.
Garlic and essential oils as repellents
The strong smell of garlic and certain essential oils (lavender, tea tree, eucalyptus) disturbs bed bugs and disrupts their orientation.
Bed bug spray recipe:
Mix 25 ml of lavender essential oil, 50 ml of tea tree oil, and 1 liter of water.
Spray on linens, mattresses, and any suspicious areas.
High-temperature washing:
Wash your sheets, clothes, and curtains at a minimum of 60°C to kill eggs and larvae. If possible, tumble dry them on the hot setting.
