Shortly after having her second child, my sister noticed a small, painful lump in her breast. The doctor initially diagnosed it as a blocked mammary gland. When it didn’t go away after a couple of weeks, the doctor gave the same diagnosis again. Months later, still no improvement, so she pushed for a second opinion. That’s when she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She had a double mastectomy followed by months of tough radiation and chemotherapy. Unfortunately, it progressed to stage 4.
